So, how does it feel to be a big-time Wall Street investor?
You are, you know... Whether you know it or not, you (and your children and grand children, and your children's children's great-grand-children) just invested over a Trillion (that's a one with twelve zeros after it) dollars in home loans for people who wouldn't have qualified for a loan of any kind, were it not for government meddling.
And the Left says that this crisis is the product of "The Free Market" running wild.
Well, it's nothing of the sort. As a matter of fact, this is about the furthest thing from what the "Free Market" would have done under any circumstances, save the ones that have been put into place by social engineering Democrats, and Socialist Activists.
We all know that a drowning man will drown you too, if you are not careful when you try to save him, and the American Taxpayer is about to be drowned while saving the drowning Mortgage and Banking Industry. (And it wasn't even the choice of the Taxpayer whether to try to save these entities. The people who made the mess in the first place just decided to use your money for this, whether you like it or not.)
Tomorrow, I will post again on this, and I will lay out the chronology and the process by which the Democrat Party and the Socilalists among us have set up this catastrophe, and how they profited both financially and politically every step of the way, and how they are attempting now to lay the blame for their own corruption and incompetence at the feet of the Republican Party, and President Bush.
Be informed. Do your own research. Make sure that you know the real story.
The only way to solve a problem is to know what actually caused the problem in the first place, and to eliminate any influence those factors may have had.
This is the fault of Democrats, start to finish, and it is going to be the undoing of the American economy at best, and the World economy at worst. But it has happened, and those responsible (some of them) are the Economic Advisory Team of one of the candidates for the Presidency of the United States.
Our country has lurched violently into Leftism and Socialism this week, and I do not know what to do about it.
But SOMETHING HAS to be done about this.
These Taxpayer funded bailouts are the most outrageous thing that has ever been foisted upon the American People by our elected representatives, and we ought not put up with this abuse of power and corruption.
But we probably will...
After all, who has time for Revolution and overthrowing the Government?
We have mortgages to pay for...

When do I start collecting my 90 million dollars in bonus money?
How high of an IQ does it take to see through Obama's reasoning that all this is the fault of Republicans, while the top recipients of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and these other large banks and Ins. companies going down donations are to Democrats? If the Republicans were their best friends, wouldn't they be giving more money to them?
I have no money in the stock market and very little in the bank, so it will have to be by taxing me that hurts. mom2
Get ready for your Democrats friends to start saying "Well they're all crooked... All those politicians are all the same. You can't trust any of them..."
Then they will all go vote for Obama anyway.
But it would be easier to convince a Baptist to switch to Islam than to get most lifelong Democrats to vote Republican. They will see all the evidence of crookery and go right down to the polls and vote for Obama anyway.
When do I start collecting my 90 million dollars in bonus money?
When you become one of the main movers and shakers in the Carter/Clinton/Obama "switch Amerika over to Communism" movement.
Let me get this straight, you think the mortgage crisis is due to too much government intervention and not enough?? Really? All the deregulation during the 80s, 90s and 2000s that tore down depression era rules have nothing to do with this but the government doing ???what? does?
Name one company that was forced to give loans to homeless people. Then name me one financial company the government forced to buy those loans. Ill bet you can't do it!
Home loans to homeless people?
I don't believe anyone has ever said that happened, there, Toad.
Why don't you try wrapping some duct tape around your head? Maybe that would help...
Maybe not homeless people but definitely they have given loans to people who had no business buying a home. That's people who can't afford a home in the first place and certainly people who can't afford the payments after the interest rate shot up.
That's what got them in trouble in the first place. If the Dems had let the free market do what makes the most sense (in a business sense), those loans would have never been approved and only people who can afford to own homes would have homes.
And the rest would be renters, living in as big and nice a home as they can responsibly manage until they could manage a better one, or downsized to a more managable one.
FREE MARKET at work.
The opposite of "Homeowner" is not necessarily "Homeless".
That's another false dilemma that the left likes to use.
