When The Going Gets Tough...

The Obamas got going.

WASHINGTON (AP) - On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Barack Obama did what surely made him happy for a while.

He left.

With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday.
They ended up at a Washington public school, [
reading "My Pet Goat" to] children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.

The article doesn't say whether or not President Obama explained to the children that his "Economic Stimulus Plan" (if it passes) will conscript them into indentured servitude for the rest of their lives, and that they will never, ever own their own labor...

Or their own pet goat, for that matter. (Unless their Senator can slip a "Pet Goat for America's Children" earmark into some future Emergency Stimulus Bill...)

People are dying in Kentucky, freezing to death in their homes, using their last fleeting ounce of strength to crawl to the window and peer outside, in vain, for a glimpse of FEMA workers who aren't coming.

The Economy is in a shambles, worst Economy in 250 years or more, the middle class losing their jobs, their very livelyhood, by the tens of thousands every day.

The preconditions which stand in the way of negotiations for America's surrender and the subsequent Peace, set by Terrorists and Rogue Nations all over the World, remain unmet.

Communist Healthcare, long lusted after by the VAST majority of America's Losers - uhm, I mean, by the losers of Life's Lottery has suffered a dramatic setback because of unfair Tax Policies (let's see how they work THAT one out...)

And where is President Barack Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho Obama?
Playing with children.

He could have done that without being President.
It's a great day to be an American!

Really? You want to criticize the president for visiting schoolchildren? That's all you've got?

Speaking as a Kentuckian, we've been pretty happy with gov't assistance in the midst of this tragic weather system. I'll thank you not to try to use our tragedy for your petty political points.

Oh, I'm sorry...

There obviously is no suffering anywhere in Kentucky, because Dan's okay.

And picking on the President for reading books to children while Rome burned seemed to be a valid political tactic for the past few years...

NOW I guess it's off limits, huh?

Dan, It sure was game for the libs to use Katrina for political gain. Thank God for His blessings and quit bowing the knee to politics, period. mom2

Let's review the facts, mom2:

1. I never spoke about Bush and visiting children.

2. Tug DID talk about Obama visiting children and making it a political thing regardless of how politically-motivated and nonsensical it is do so.

WHO is bowing their knees to politics, then? Is it your point that IF you criticize a president for visiting schoolchildren, THEN you are "bowing your knees to politics?" If so, then you are criticizing Tug, not me. I'll have to stick up for Tug and say that I don't think that merely because he makes a stupid point means that he's worshiping the political right, so I disagree with you on that point. I just think it is a stupid position, not a blasphemous one.

I think you should apologize to Tug.

Thinking, huh Dan? That's a new one and rich. mom2

...aaaand another illogical and unsupported attack from mom2, the queen of drive-by slanderings and attacks.

"These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: ...A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren..."

~Proverbs 6

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice..."

~Ephesians 4

"And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not."

1 Timothy 5
"For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies..."

~Matthew 15

Behave, mom2. You are of an age that you should be setting an example, not engaging in this sort of petty ill-behavior. If you were my child, I would have sent you to time-out.

I believe the Bible speaks of answering some people with foolishness because they do not desire the truth and that is what I am doing to you. You better be glad YOU were not my child, the woodshed would have been your place that I would have taken you a LONG time ago. :-) mom2

Dan is here to pick a fight because I called him out and told him the truth over at his place on Sunday.

He and I went a couple of rounds last night, but I deleted the whole exchange.

Dan is confused, and cannot be awakened from his confusion because he cannot hear anything but the voices of those who have confused him.

Everthing else, he hears as "attack" and "slander" and "false witness".

Sorry, Mom2. I wouldn't have had you attacked here for anything.

Thanks, Tug. I read that exchange before you deleted it. I just consider the source (Dan). No use casting pearls before swine, they will just turn and rend you.
Keep on keeping on. God bless you and your family. mom2

Wow. I'm polite, I have the attacks directed towards me (who was it who was accused by mom2 of not thinking - "thinking, huh Dan? That's a new one" and of worshiping politics - "Thank God for His blessings and quit bowing the knee to politics, period.") and now I'm being lied about by Tug??

No wonder you deleted it. To remove the evidence of your own ill behavior so that you can slander me more with your lies and deceit.

I rebuke you both in the name of Jesus. Get help. You apparently believe just the opposite of what is happening in reality.

And I will note (per your requirements) that I AM being civil and I am speaking the truth. You will likely delete this, too, to your own shame and that's okay. This sort of behavior doesn't need to be shown in public.

Feel free to write me privately if you wish to strive to reconcile, per biblical instruction.

Which Jesus are you invoking, Dan? Jesus Gonzales? You surely can't mean the Son of God, because he would never advocate the things you do, like murdering babies in the womb, celebrating sexual sin and calling it blessed, etc.

Anyway, Dan's righteous indignation notwithstanding, his Liberal buddies crucified Bush (and I assume Dan had no problem with that)for continuing to read a book to the children after he heard the news about 9/11, so when Obama does much the same thingafter a devastating ice storm, it makes Obama fair game.

For Conservatives, anyway, not for the media.

So, Dan can say what he wants, but the fact is, the situation with the ice storms in the south was considered a state of emergency situation and Obama did nothing.

Nothing.

He didn't even board a chopper and survey the situation, as Bush did.

He didn't send in FEMA, as Bush did.

He didn't even declare it a state of emergency, as Bush did.

Bush was accused of hating black people because the Democrat mayor and Governor blew their responsibility in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, even though more white people were displaced by the storm than blacks.

So, by that standard, I'm guessing Obama must hate white people. At least Bush eventually did something. Obama is still doing nothing for the victims of the ice storms.

I will satisfy Dan by admitting that my statement above about the way I choose to answer him comes from several verses found in Proverbs and my past experiences with him. He will not find an exact quote in the Bible for that advice. mom2

On the topic, Mark said:

He didn't send in FEMA, as Bush did.

He didn't even declare it a state of emergency, as Bush did.

The facts are:

1. "[KY Gov] Beshear asked Obama for a disaster declaration to free up federal assistance Thursday, two days after the storm hit, and Obama issued it hours later."

As soon as we asked for the declaration, we got it.

2. FEMA was there when they were asked to come, a couple of days later (storm 1/27, Fema arrived 1/29).

"In the first real test of the Obama administration's ability to respond to a disaster, Kentucky officials are giving the federal government good marks for its response to a deadly ice storm."

source

But you are correct, Mark. Obama did not board a chopper and fly here. He was busy dealing with a second, man-made crisis (the economy) and so he did not make time for a photo op appearance here in Kentucky. Have you heard we Kentuckians complaining?

It would be a falsehood, Mark, to say that Obama is doing nothing for us, I'm sure you'll want to apologize for that misrepresentation.

Obama's doing what we've asked and we're relatively satisfied. (Speaking as a person who has a West Kentucky refugee living with us now, things could have been handled better in W KY, where they were perhaps hardest hit. Live and learn.)

As to the Bush reading a book to kids while the US was under attack, I think most reasonable citizens see a difference between that and Obama visiting a school in the days following an ice storm.

mom2, I apologize. "Answer a fool according to his folly..." from Proverbs is indeed in the Bible and that did not occur to me. Sorry.

tugboatcapn said...

To be fair to Dan, he doesn't directly support murdering babies in the womb...

He just aligns himself ideologically with those who do because on that issue, his religion would conflict with his politics.

A man has to make choices, you know... Decide what is most important to him.

And I will give him credit for how politely he attacked Mom2, and how civil he was when he dropped in here for the first time in a year or so to reprimand me for picking on his messiah.

Never mind how Bush was treated... Dan cannot let a slight against Obama go unchallenged.

Careful about reading that far back in the Bible, my friend... You might find that some of the dogma being preached in your church is refered to as "abomination", and then you might have to make another decision about what is more important to you.

Dan Trabue said...

"Abomination?" You mean, like slander? A false witness that speaks lies?

Yes, I'm familiar with what the Bible has to say about abominations. Are you?

tugboatcapn said...

Very.

No false witness, Dan.

Observations, based your opinions as expressed on the blogosphere.

Tell me, Dan... Is there any such thing as a sin that is not against you personally?

I mean, lies and false witness seems to be the only activities you can condemn.

And then, only if you percieve them to be directed at you...

tugboatcapn said...

I mean, you never seemed to have any problems with lies and slander when they were directed at President Bush, for instance...
