Presidential...

I continue to be amazed at the class and statesmanship displayed by President Bush.

Obama Meets With Bush as He Weighs Policy Reversals

Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- President-elect Barack Obama met with President George W. Bush at the White House as his aides consider ways to undo many of the policies put in place by the U.S. leader during the past eight years...

Obama and his wife, Michelle, also got a tour of their future home hosted by the president and first lady Laura Bush.

If I were President Bush, I would have beaten Obama to a bloody pulp while the cameras whirred.

"Worst Economy in fifty years, huh?"

(KICK!)

"Eight years of failed policies, huh?"

(KICK... KICK!)

"Tax cuts for the Rich, huh?"

(KICK... KICK... STOMP!!)

Then, I would have slipped an un-registered hand gun into his pocket, and had him hauled away for attempting to assasinate me.

And while all this was going on, I would have had Laura slip a bunch of silverware into Michelle's purse, and had her searched on the way out.

And if President Bush was as evil and devious as the Left would have had us believe, he would have done it too.

Think about it...

If President Bush really had been lying on purpose about "WMD's" just to trick the United States into supporting his personal war against Iraq, do you really believe that none would have been found when we got there?

A President who is diabolical enough to mislead a Nation into war for his own purposes is certainly smart enough to have the Special Forces ship a container of Nukular weapons over there just ahead of the first wave of reporters, and put them on display for the whole world to observe and admire.

There is no way in the world that someone crafty enough to decieve all those hyper-intelligent Democrats into supporting the war in Iraq would have handed the Democrats, the Press, and the Lefty Kooks that stick to beat him with, year after year.

It just wouldn't have happened.

And President Bush did not knock Barack Obama down a peg today, either.

He treated Obama with dignity and respect, whether he deserved it or not.

And when Obama's people take their places in the White House in January, they will find that all the computer keyboards still have O's on them, all of the furniture will still be there, and there will be no grafitti on the walls.

And the Presidential Seal will be exactly the same as it has been.

The fact that the Obamas were treated as gracefully as they were today is a testament to the character of President Bush.

He deserves more respect than this country has shown him.

Yes he does, and Obama deserves to be treated exactly as Bush has been.

Amen, Tug. And.....if Obama were the shining example of Christianity that we have been told he is, he should be so embarrassed at the things he has said about Bush, that he would beg his forgiveness and admit that his own desire to win had more sway than his desire to honor Christ in his pre-election actions and words displayed. mom2

And then Obama's Staff (i.e., Obama HAS his staff) leak details of the private discussion to the media. Nothing is too low for this guy.

I actually don't think that the leaks were done maliciously, Rob.

I think that the leak situation is an example of the inexperience and naivete' of Obama, and the people with which he surrounds himself.

I'm just glad it was a briefing with President Bush that will teach Obama and his staff this lesson, and not some really serious National Security briefing that could cost a thousand American lives.

Things like these are the reason that experience is more important than personality when choosing the president.

We have to be very careful that we do not mistake irresponsibility and ineptitude for evil genius.

If we do, then Obama is going to look extremely evil and smart in the coming months...

Perhaps but I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. I don't believe that this is an example of irresponsibility or evil genius. I think it is thuggery pure and simple. Obama is a Chicago thug; a disciple of Saul Alinsky and this is a perfect example of Alinsky-style tactics. It is not enough to win but you must demoralize those who do not share your views to the point that they would NEVER consider taking you on in the future. It's about power and what says power to a thug better than giving a political "bitch slap" to the tired old man in the White House on his turf while he extends every courtesy.

The Obama campaign was an example of how team Obama works but the meeting at The White House is how Barack Obama operates. He will make Bill Clinton look like a misguided boy scout. Welcome to Thug Politics.

Wow. Tug has wet dreams of "beating Obama to a bloody pulp" and you find Obama a thug, disrespectful and distasteful?

No, I said President Bush should have beaten Obama to a bloody pulp, Idiot.

What are you doing, anyway?

Have you nothing better to do besides sit there hitting the refresh button hoping someone will respond to your idiocy?

Go worship Obama somewhere else.

You know, Dan, the hypocrisy of your comments, knowing that they come from someone who has "wet dreams" of Bush and Cheney in chains and in prison is sickening.

It's amazing how clearly you can see the mote in my eye, considering the fact that you are looking around the beam in your's...

Idiot.

Get thee behind me, Dan.

I do not need your phonyness here.

Well, just wait. The days of jackboots and black patent-leather are fast approaching. Think it was bad under Bush? Just wait.

You ain't seen nothin' yet.

There are PLENTY of things to fault Bush for. It's just that the things WE would fault him for are not the things THEY fault him for.

He has NOT been a good president. Though I am not ashamed at having voted for him twice considering the circumstances, I am ashamed that my nation left me no choice.

What do you want to bet there will be studs on the leather and open crotches in the trousers?

When his approval rating is below 25%, all he has left is a grin and a handshake. And, by the way, that's all he can carry off with competence.

The bad economy is keeping Obama from being able to carry out all his promises and the Good Lord may keep him from some of the others, I pray. mom2

We aren't dealing with logic when dealing with liberals. They seem to run off of pure emotion. Trying to show them their illogical thought patterns is like trying to squeeze that toothpaste back into its container.

Really good thought here, tug.
