In an amazing display of Bi-partisanship and cooperation, Nancy Pelosi has decided to support Rep. John "Jack" Murtha for the position of Majority Leader in the 110th Congress.
In a letter released by Murtha's office, Pelosi told the Pennsylvania congressman that his surprise call for the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq in 2005 "changed the national debate and helped make Iraq the central issue of this historic election."
"Your leadership gave so many Americans, including respected military leaders, the encouragement to voice their own disapproval at a failed policy that weakens our military and makes stability in that region even more difficult to achieve," she wrote.
Refresh my memory...
What was the final vote in the House on Murtha's idea to cut and run in Iraq?
Murtha has been one of the most divisive figures in the History of American Politics. He is the poster boy for "Victory through Retreat" War strategy.
Last year, he asserted that U.S. Marines went crazy and began executing innocent Iraqi Citizens in the village of Haditha, and now, more than a year later, he has yet to apologize for those remarks, even though no charges have ever been filed, and no Marine has been convicted of wrongdoing in the Haditha Incident.
He has done everything he could think of to undermine the War effort, and continues to do so.
He is also the second most famous Un-Indicted Co-Conspirator in History (The MOST famous was Richard Nixon) because of his entanglement in the ABSCAM Corruption and Bribery investigation.
Had he not turned State's Evidence, he would be in Prison.
It's not like Pelosi had no other choice...
Rep. Steny Hoyer is also vying for the position of House Majority Leader, but Pelosi doesn't like him.
Now, Hoyer is a Liberal, so he would not be my personal first choice for Majority Leader.
But as far as I can tell, he is a CLEAN Liberal, and does not openly call for America's defeat in the War in Iraq.
He is far and away more desirable in that position than Murtha. (To everyone but Nancy Pelosi.)
Murtha is not the only crook that Pelosi has openly embraced...
She has rejected Rep. Jane Harman for the position of Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee in favor of Rep. Alcee Hastings, who was Impeached from the Federal Bench for accepting Bribes in 1992. ( A man who has proven himself to be bribable as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee? Does that sound like a good idea to you?)
Aparently, she has chosen to use her Broom to gather the trash from the floor of the House, and put it all into positions of Leadership.
Whatever.
The truth is, I want her to have who she wants, in whatever position of power she wants to place them.
She is not interested in Bi-Partisanship, and neither should the Republicans be.
I don't want my Representatives attempting to work with Pelosi, because I think that she is wrong. Wrong about everything from what the Constitution says, to Military Strategy, to Economics to Human Nature.
And a compromise with Wrong means accepting a degree of Wrong, and agreeing with Wrong.
I want the next two years to show in graphic detail the differences between Conservative Republicans, and Liberal Democrats.
There is no place for Moderates on either side.
Not now.
Believe what you believe, and believe it out loud, and do not apologize, whatever it is that you believe.
Do not back down under any circumstances.
When you get into bed with your enemies, you get screwed, and that's all you get.

Mystery Quote...
I'm going to borrow a trick from D.Daddio Al-Ozarka.
Who said this?
"We are at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it has been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening."
Great quote, huh?

New Tone...
The President met with Nancy Pelosi today.
They both pledged to extend the hand of Bi-Partisanship, and to work together to solve the problems that America faces.
Well, I guess it would do her good to try new things.
I don't buy it.
She has already stated that any Democrat who cooperated with Republicans on anything during the 109th Congress will be denied a position of significance in the 110th. (Even if disgraced, impeached bribe-takers get the job instead.)
I think the President is blowing it, big time.
He has an opportunity which has never before presented itself in the History of the World.
As a matter of fact, the outgoing Republican controlled Legislature has a similar opportunity.
Here's what they should do.
First, the Congress and Senate should call an Emergency session and De-Fund the War.
Then they should repeal the Tax Cuts. ALL of them.
After that, they should repeal Medicare Part B, No Child Left Behind, and the Highway Bill.
Then they should adjourn, and the President should, through Recess Appointment, install every single Judicial Nominee he has ever wanted, and then expand the Supreme Court to Twenty Justices, all by Recess Appointment. (There is nothing in the Constitution defining how many Justices can or should be on the Supreme Court, and the President has the power, NAY! The RESPONSIBILITY to nominate Judges and SC Justices.)
THEN, the President should address the Nation, on Christmas Eve on Television from the Oval Office. (I would even set it for 8:00 pm, and stroll in at 8: 05, and force every network to show five minutes of my empty chair.)
And here is how it should go.
(The President walks into the room, crosses between the desk and cameras, nonchalantly tosses a small box and a Manila Folder onto the desk, and sits down.)
"My Fellow Americans:
"When I first took office in January of 2001, I attempted to bring a 'New Tone' to Washington, a new spirit of cooperation and harmony between the two major Political Parties which I had hoped would help our Nation move past the unpleasantness we all endured during the previous Administration.
"It was my desire to advance an agenda which would represent the Voters who sent me here, while also giving a legitimate voice to the Minority Party, so that each and every American would recieve their fair share of Representation in Washington, as is their right as Citizens of this great Nation.
"I have been met with hatred, slander, obstruction, and sabotage at every turn from the Democrat Party.
"They have opposed me, virtually in lock-step, on my Judicial Nominees, my Tax Initiatives to strengthen and grow our Economy, my programs and efforts to uncover the plans of those around the World who have declared War against this Great Nation, and have even accused me and my administration, and even our Troops, of War Crimes for doing the things that we found necessary, if unpleasant, to attempt to keep the Citizens of the United States safe from attack on our own Soil.
"On November 7th, the American People went to the polls, and voted. They chose to turn the gavels of power over to the Democrats who have systematically stood in the way of each and every thing that I, and the Republicans in the House and Senate have attempted to do, In spite of my attempts to reach out to them, and cooperate.
"So, Tonight, I have come before you to announce that that the 'New Tone' is no more. The Voters have spoken, and I have heard you.
"This Election has shown me that the American People do not want the things that I tried to institute, so over the past few days, I and the outgoing Legislature have un-done everything we passed since I took office.
"The other thing that I learned in November is that the American People actually LIKE the tactics of Obstructionism and Divisive Partisanship. After all, the party that has used these tactics for the last six years was rewarded with a Majority in Both Houses of Congress.
"In this box are One Hundred brand new Ink Pens, and they only write one word.
"VETO.
"I solemnly promise to VETO every single piece of Legislation that reaches my desk until the end of my Presidency.
"On the very last day I am in office, I will Veto something, on Television.
"While the American People saw fit to give the Democrat Party, which Vetoed my 'New Tone' of cooperation, the reigns of Power for the next two years, they evidently did NOT see fit to give them Veto Proof Majorities in either House.
"There is one other issue that I must address, and then I will let you go back to watching 'Deal or No Deal', and that is the issue of my Manilla Folder here.
"In this Folder, I have a Blanket Presidential Pardon. It applies to War Crimes committed in Afghanistan and Iraq, and covers each and every person who has been, currently is, or ever will be accused, investigated, or convicted of War Crimes as a result of my use of the U.S. Military during my Presidency, from the lowliest Private on the ground, right on up to myself.
"I will now sign this document, here in plain view of the American People... (signs the Paper, and then holds it up for the cameras...) as is my right and privilege as President of the United States. So, now we will not be bothered by useless investigations, subpoenas, or Impeachment Hearings, and the Incoming Democrat Legislature can get about the business of drafting Legislation for me to Veto.
"To those of you who have supported me, I thank you.
"To the rest of you, who have stood in my way since the beginning of my Presidency, have fun choking down the excrement sandwich you yourselves have taught me so well how to serve up.
"Thank you, and Good Night."

The Real Message...
What a predicament.
Nancy Pelosi went out and bought herself enough "Conservative Democrat" Candidates to ensure herself a position as Speaker of the House, Control of the Senate hinges on less than 6500 votes in Virginia, and today, the President came out and switched Parties.
Donald Rumsfeld will be beheaded at dawn Tommorrow, and John Bolton and Condi Rice will most likely be dealt with next week.
Dick Cheney is safe because he shoots back.
I cannot describe to you the feeling of absolute disgust and betrayal that I felt today as I listened to the President, with his Lame Duck Tail tucked firmly between his legs, begging the Democrats not to impeach him, and promising to do whatever they want for the next two years.
But then again, I can't really blame him. How many of us could have withstood the rehtorical beating the President has taken for the last six years?
The Voters have spoken.
We love Democrats now.
War is too horrible, whether it is declared ON US, or BY US. It costs too much to win, it is too bloody, too unpleasant.
It is too hard to take responsibility for our OWN well being, we need help from Government.
The Economy really is much too strong, and all of this success is bad for Democrats. Success on a National Level does not create enough victims.
We rich people who make at least $25,000.00 per year don't really need to keep more of our own money. The Evil Corporations for which we work do not really need to make a profit, they only exist to provide jobs, and the CEO really does make way too much money.
We Americans really do want to pay for one another's health care, whether there is any money left over in our paychecks for groceries or not.
Illegal Immigrants really should be forgiven, and given all of the Rights afforded bona-fide American Citizens, no matter how many of them there are, or what it does to our Country. After all, Mexican Style Socialism really isn't that bad. The Illegals should be allowed to vote it in here if they want. I mean, they tried so hard and overcame so many obstacles to come here illegally...
And the President MUST be impeached, because since Bill Clinton, ALL Presidents must always be impeached, from now on.
After all, the Liberal Agenda won, didn't it?
No, it didn't.
The Democrats who won Yesterday ran as "Blue Dog" Democrats, or Conservative Democrats, and the whole turn-around was decided by about 50,000 votes total, Nation Wide.
That's hardly a Mandate.
At least not a Mandate for the kind of changes that the Democrats have planned for our Country.
The Republicans lost Yesterday because they got too comfortable with Power. They became more interested in retaining Power than they were in LEADING.
They were more interested in what the New York Times had to say about them than they were in what their constituents expected when we elected them.
They ran on the concept of Limited Government, and then passed the largest Entitlement Program in American History.
And we threw the Bums out.
My biggest regret is that we failed to remove all of the Fecal Matter from the Conservative Punchbowl.
And I am afraid that the wrong message has been transmitted to the remaining floaters. I'm afraid that John McCain will believe that Americans want more Moderate Behavior.
More Centrism.
We DON'T.
This Country leans RIGHT.
The Democrats understand this, they just don't care. They believe that the American Voter does not really know what is best for us, so they pretend to be Conservatives in order to get elected, and then once installed in office, they elect Nancy Pelosi, and her "San Francisco Liberal" Agenda to the position of Leadership.
That is not what most Americans want, no matter what the outcome of Yesterday's Elections.
Denny Hastert needs to go. John McCain needs to go.
We need new blood, new faces, new LEADERS. We need spokesmen who can articulate the Conservative Message in a forceful and understandable way.
We need a new Ronald Reagan, and a new Newt Gingrich.
The real message of Yesterday's Elections is this:
Conservatism WINS, every time it's tried.
No matter who tries it.

No matter who tries it.
Take That, Republicans!
Well, the Democrats took the House of Representatives.
This is what elected Republicans get for forgetting why we sent them to Washington in the first place.
So, now, for the next two years, we only get to discuss whatever legislation is important to Nancy Pelosi.
So get ready.
There will be subpoenas, investigations, hearings and inquiries.
The Minimum Wage will go up, and so will the cost of everything you need to buy.
We will finally be able to get that un-naturally low National Unemployment number back up to where it needs to be.
Take your money out of your 401k Tommorrow, and buy CD's with it. (Certificates of Deposit, not Compact Disks of Carrie Underwood or K-Fed.)
Buy a Handgun (preferably from a street-corner dealer, so that it cannot be traced) , put it in a zip-lock bag and bury it in your yard. Erect a small cross over it with "Rover" painted on it, so that you can find it quickly.
The "Viet-Namization" of Iraq will begin soon, and America will once again show the World that we cannot be trusted to finish what we start, and that we no longer have the collective stomach to win in armed conflict.
There is some good news, though...
If you and your Wife both make $25,000 or more per year, you are now "The Rich". (As defined by the dominant Party in the U.S. House of Representatives.)
You will soon get the privilege of footing the bill for Bill Gates' Health Care.
I want them to run Hog Wild.
Go ahead, Dems. Do ALL of the things that the Daily KOS crowd wants.
I want voting, thinking, informed Americans to go ahead and get a Belly Full of Democrats, once and for all.
You have two years. Make it count.
Let's hope that the President can find his VETO Pen before things get too far out of hand, and that the Republican Party will learn from this situation.
The American People did not allow the Democrats to win the House because they wanted Democrats in charge, they allowed it to happen because it has become too difficult to tell the difference.
So Congratulations, America!
You voted for "Change", well you're going to get it.
Enjoy it. Love it. Learn from it.
This will indeed be a hard lesson.

Bush Didn't Lie, Nobody Died.
At least not as a result of Iraqi WMD anyway.
This was on the front page of the Newspaper Of Wreckage Yesterday.
U.S. Web Archive Is Said to Reveal a Nuclear Primer
Last March, the federal government set up a Web site to make public a vast archive of Iraqi documents captured during the war. The Bush administration did so under pressure from Congressional Republicans who had said they hoped to “leverage the Internet” to find new evidence of the prewar dangers posed by Saddam Hussein.
And it worked.
The story goes on to explain how the website published documents captured in Iraq that could possibly help Nations like Iran in their quest for WMD.
Way down at the bottom of the first page of the article, we find this paragraph:
Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq had abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away.
"We need to give the Inspectors more time to do their jobs!!" the Libs screamed.
"We shouldn't rush to War!" they howled.
"There were never any WMD!" they chanted.
Yes there were.
And there would have been more, and worse ones had the President listened to the "loyal opposition".
This is only the latest in a long string of revelations that have proven over and over that President Bush has been right all along.
About ALL of it.
From the War on Terror, to the Tax Cuts, to Iraq.
BUSH WAS RIGHT.
And all of his opponents, caught up in the throes of their hatred and animosity, were WRONG.
What would the World look like if we had listened to the Democrats for only one more year?
What will the World look like in a year if we listen to them now?
God help us if we let them take the House or Senate on Tuesday.

What I Meant to Say Was...
John Kerry has issued a formal apology for his statements on Monday, which have largely been interpreted as derogatory toward members of the U.S. Military.
Here it is, straight from his website, JohnKerry.com... (A site that I am sure most of you, as well as most Military people frequent at least once a day...)
"I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I sincerely apologize to any Service Member, family member, or American who was offended."
In other words...
(Paraphrasing...) "I'm sorry that all of you are too stupid to understand what I was trying to say, and I apologize for the fact that you got offended by what you thought I said."
Is that good enough for you?
Is John Kerry forgiven?
Are you ready once again to vote for him for the Presidency of the United States?
I am not actually that upset over this gaffe. You see, I understood what he was trying to say.
I GOT the joke.
Kerry was not talking about the U.S. Military. He was not trying to say that if you are stupid, if you don't do your homework in school, if you don't get a good education, then you might end up being a stupid soldier, stuck against your will in Iraq. That's not what he meant at all...
Let me lay it out for you.
What John Kerry was trying to say on Monday Night was:
"Geroge Bush did not do his homework on the subject of Iraq. George Bush did not study hard, did not learn about the attitudes and customs of the people of Iraq, did not learn all he needed to know about Iraq before he foolishly rushed off to War against Saddam Hussein, and as a result, we are ALL stuck in the quagmire that is Iraq. Don't fall into a similar trap yourself."
The problem that Kerry encountered was that this is too broad a concept to be shortened down to one quick sentence which could hold the attention of a room full of College Students.
It absolutely won't fit onto a Bumper Sticker.
Now, do I believe that Kerry actually meant to call each and every American Serviceman currently stationed in Iraq an uneducated Boob, stuck fighting a useless and unwinnable War against their will, eight days before the Mid-Term Elections?
No. I don't.
But the fact is, he did.
Whether he meant to or not.
His ACTUAL words were:
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq."
There is nothing about the President in that statement. That does not read like a botched joke.
And the truth is, if Rush Limbaugh or President Bush had said those exact words, everyone would have said, "Oh, he didn't mean that the way it sounded. He doesn't feel that way about our Soldiers, he was only illustrating absurdity by being absurd."
But this was John Kerry. The man who went to Viet-Nam for about four months, and upon returning, fought tooth and nail for the OTHER SIDE.
The man who voted for the 87 Billion Dollar Military Funding Bill, before he voted against it.
The man who said in a Presidential Debate that he believed that the U.S. should pass a "Global Test" before deciding to defend Herself.
The man responsible for statements like these:
"I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown," Kerry wrote. "We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply 'doing its job." (1972)
"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not
--Iraqis should be doing that." (2005)
And a host of other statements criminalizing, insulting, and demoralizing our Armed Forces.
So, in my opinion, whether Kerry meant to say what he actually said on Monday Night, he does think that.
Should we forgive him?
Well, he hasn't actually ASKED for forgiveness, has not disavowed all of the other horrible things he has said against the Military since the Viet-Nam War, and didn't actually apologize for what he said on Monday.
So, No. We shouldn't forgive him.
Kerry just wants this to all go away, so that he and the rest of the Democrats can get back to what he, and they, consider to be the most important task at hand, which is bashing Republicans, regaining Democrat Power by hook or by crook, and kicking the snot out of President Bush.
Sorry, Senator Kerry. I do not accept your "apology".
Neither should anyone else. You, Sir, are a self-important, condescending, elitist snob, unfit for higher office because you want to RULE rather than SERVE, and the sooner you are left by the wayside and forgotten, the better off America will be.
Along with your flawed and twisted ideology.
