We Love Love Bugs!!

Because they've got GUTS!

This is about a 2 1/2 hour accumulation.

I have to clean my windshield four times a day, and even then I have to look around, between and through them in order to see where I am going.

You should see my grille and front bumper...

Plecia nearctica, or "Love Bugs."

The popular explanation for these instruments of Satan is that they were created in a laboratory at the University of Florida for the purpose of ruining Automobile Paint.

(Oh, I forgot to tell you... Their innards contain a type of acid which, if left on your car for more than about twenty-four hours, eats into paint to the metal underneath, and causes deep pits in chrome.)

(The front end of my Wife's old car that we traded in last December looked like it had been sand-blasted.)

The University of Florida says that they came from Louisiana.

But where ever they came from, they end up all over your car (or truck, as the case may be.)

If you are familiar with these pests, then you feel my pain, and I am sorry for you as well... The best advice I can give you is to put a Quarter in a jar every time you clean your windshield during their two swarming periods each year, and you will have enough money to repaint your car, send your kids to College (out of State), and feed a small African Village for about 100 years.

If you are not, then count yourself lucky. Pray that you never do become familiar with them.

Trust me, you wouldn't like them.
