Gore says tax pollution, not payrolls...

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore on Monday suggested taxing carbon dioxide emissions instead of employees' pay in a bid to stem global warming.

"Penalizing pollution instead of penalizing employment will work to reduce that pollution," Gore said in a speech at New York University School of Law.

The pollution tax would replace all payroll taxes, including those for Social Security and unemployment compensation, Gore said. He said the overall level of taxation, would remain the same.

"Instead of discouraging businesses from hiring more employees it would discourage business from producing more pollution," Gore said.

What a Brilliant Idea!

Except for the fact that he is wrong about his plan discouraging businesses from hiring more employees (it would), and about the overall level of taxation remaining the same, (he is a Democrat, and would raise ALL taxes at every opportunity), and about the Pollution Tax replacing all payroll taxes including Socialist security and Unemployment Compensation ( it wouldn't), and about Global Warming being caused by carbon dioxide emmissions ( that has never been proven), he is right on target!

Aparently, Al Gore believes that Corporations are somehow profiting directly from the very act of polluting the environment, and that businesses will simply fork over all of their profits, and continue to employ Employees and produce products and provide services on a non profit basis, out of the goodness of their black, corporate hearts.

Aparently he believes that money simply materializes for American Businesses out of thin, polluted air.

Of all the dunder-headed, idiotic, lame-brained...

Wait!

I have an even better idea...

According to Gore's own assertions, Global Warming is being caused by President Bush's (AND Clinton's, don't forget...) refusal to sign the Kyoto accords, and the reason that Corporations are able to destroy the atmosphere for profit in the first place is because of a lack of Government Regulations and Environmental Protection Programs.

So the whole problem of Global Warming is the fault of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, right?

So why not TAX THE GOVERNMENT?

We could completely eliminate all payroll taxes, as well as Socialist Security Taxes and Unemployment Compensation by making the Government pay them!

The overall Tax Rate could remain the same, only it would be paid from the Federal Treasury instead of coming from the wages of Working Americans!

Go ahead and laugh.

My plan makes as much sense as Gore's does.
